About The Event

Healing the Parent Wound: How Your Environment Shapes You is the first workshop in a powerful three-part series dedicated to understanding and healing the emotional wounds left by early experiences. Led by Michele Paradise and drawing on the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, this workshop delves into how childhood developmental needs, if unmet, shape our sense of self, personality, and coping mechanisms. You’ll explore how these early wounds form the core beliefs that guide our adult lives and impact our confidence, relationships, and self-worth.

Through interactive exercises and self-reflection, Michele will help you uncover the hidden influence of your past and gently guide you to recognise and release patterns that no longer serve you. Whether you're new to this work or ready for deeper healing, this workshop is a unique opportunity to reclaim your self-awareness and start building a healthier foundation for the future.

About The Series

Healing the Parent Wound: A Journey to Wholeness is a three-part workshop series designed to help women uncover and heal the impact of their childhood experiences on their adult lives. Each session, led by trauma and relationship expert Michele Paradise, builds upon the previous one, creating a pathway to understanding and transformation.

In Workshop 1, we explore how childhood needs, attachment, and developmental trauma shape personality and behaviour, guided by the work of Dr Gabor Maté. Workshop 2 delves into how these early wounds influence adult relationships, focusing on attachment styles and patterns formed in childhood that resurface in our closest connections. In Workshop 3, participants are provided with practical tools to foster resilience, self-compassion, and a renewed sense of agency in their lives. This series offers a safe and supportive environment to engage in profound self-discovery and healing.

What is the Parent Wound?

The "parent wound" is the emotional pain that can form in the relationship between a parent and child. It doesn’t mean parents are bad people; it often comes from the fact that parents bring their own life experiences and unprocessed traumas into parenting. This can make it hard for them to fully support their child emotionally, even if they love them deeply. As a result, children may grow up feeling like they’re not good enough or that they need to please others to feel loved.
